In 1982, a crematory was added to the East Allen Street location, providing seamless professional care to families requesting cremation. In 1896, Charles T. Bisch, a local funeral director and carpet store owner, started the Charles T. Bisch Funeral Service on 6th Street, north of Washington Street, in Springfield, Illinois. As the business grew, he established a funeral home in the Lincoln Home area at 8th and Capital streets, where he worked with his son H.P.
